Elevated urban garden in Tokyo
Uh I hate it when I see this, and I see it a lot. Photos of places in Japan being labelled Tokyo just because it’s in a city. This is in fact Namba Parks in OSAKA.

I fair few of my new followers have told me that they can’t ready hiragana, so I’m trying to figure out a system where they can learn. However, I really want those who can’t read hiragana to push themselves to, as it will make learning Japanese a lot easier, and will take you beyond being able to speak, and into reading and writing too.
For anyone that doesn’t know what hiragana is, it is a set of symbols used in Japanese, with each symbol representing a syllable. It used to learn how to pronounce a word, for grammatical points, certain words entirely, and for conjugations.
a あ i い u う e え o お
ka か ki き ku く ke け ko こ
sa さ shi し su す se せ so そ
ta た chi ち tsu つ te て to と
na な ni に nu ぬ ne ね no の
ha は hi ひ fu ふ he へ ho ほ
ma ま mi み mu む me め mo も
ya や yu ゆ yo よ
ra ら ri り ru る re れ ro ろ
wa わ wo を
n ん
Notice how the following hiragana use the same main symbols as before, but two small dashes or a circle in the top right hand corner change the sound.
ga が gi ぎ gu ぐ ge げ go ご
za ざ ji じ zu ず ze ぜ zo ぞ
da だ de で do ど
ba ば bi び bu ぶ be べ bo ぼ
pa ぱ pi ぴ pu ぷ pe ぺ po ぽ
So a task for everyone, while also looking back to the last lesson.
Introduce yourself to me, using 私(わたし/watashi) and です(desu).
For example: 私(わたし) は えど です。 (watashi wa edo desu).
I’m glad to be of help :D. You lived in Okinawa eh? That’s awesome man, I don’t get to go back until next year :/. As I said in the blog, it’s gonna be starting on some pretty basic stuff, and slowly increasing as I catch up with myself and I learn more as well :D
I’m starting a Japanese learning blog!
So if you want to learn some Japanese, starting at the basics, go to my new blog: http://icanspeakjapanese.tumblr.com/
If any of my followers have learnt japanese in a formal setting outside of Japan, get in touch :). I want to find out for a vlog I’m doing.
Just saw this from a very successful japan blog:
“my asian kokoro is trapped in a caucasian body”.
Uh. Wanting to go to//live in Japan is one thing, but actually wishing you were asian? Really? What difference would that make?
